2012 Marks the 52nd Annual Portland Rose Festival Rose Cup Races
The Rose Cup is the second oldest amateur race event in the country and is a regular stop for over 400 entrants from all over the United States and Canada.
During the three day event national and regional drivers will compete in 1 races throughout the weekend.
Featured races include:
- The Rose Cup Race run for the 52nd time with an expected field of more than 30 race-prepared sports cars running at speeds up to 170 MPH. Last year Brian Richards beat Loren Beggs by .484 seconds and this year should be as exciting.
- The Wemme Trophy Race which commemorates the 1909 Wemme Trophy race from Portland to Gresham and features the Vintage run group in honor of the first cars that raced in Portland.
- The Festival Trophy Race will be the very competitive Spec Racer Ford group. This year's race is sponsored by Pro Drive. Racers from up and down the West Coast and Rocky Mountain states are expected to compete.
- The Pirelli Drivers Cup USA race consisting of Porsche 996 and 997 GT3 Cup Cars and Ferrari F430 Challenge Cars has become a fan favorite. This is a chance to see some of the most interesting and exotic race cars in the world.
- The weekend also features two races as part of the Porsche Club of America's "Porsche Cup."
